About us
We are the Leeds Trinity University rugby union team known as the Saints. We compete in the BUCS 5B division.
The culture of our club is built by our people. Below is a few comments describing how they feel about the club from the past and present players.

"The Saints meant everything to me and made my time at university amazing. You meet friends for life and get the chance to play with some really talented players. The social aspect to the team made it even better, so if you want to be a part of a bunch of great lads and make friends who you will keep in contact with for the your life... Be a Saint!"
Charlie Liggins (captain 2015/16) played from 2014-17.

"The Saints made me the person I am today. Without them I wouldn't be the person or player I am. There is no greater feeling than stepping out onto the pitch surrounded by 14 other lads and knowing each and every one of them trust respects, and has you're back."
Adam Marsden (Current Captain)

"I think the team is like a second family to me, as a member of the committee you invest a lot of you're time into the team which makes it personal to you. Especially as each year there is a different team with 3rd years leaving and new freshers coming in. It makes the team unique to each committee. But every year with the old boys game you are able to stay in touch with past players which emphasises the family spirit."

Alex Burnett (Captain 2016-17)

"Moving 125 miles away can be quite daunting, for even the most confident of people. For me it wouldn’t have been manageable without being accepted into the Saints team. I’d fallen out of love with rugby after the first year of sixth form and had started to play another sport, for which I trialled when I first arrived at Trinity. After being coaxed by some of lads I lived with, senior members of the team and committee I made the choice to become a saint and never looked back. I chose to run for social sec in my 3rd year, after seeing an inspired job done by the men before me. I knew I could show the lads a good time. And I highly recommend the job to anyone who fancies it. It's highly fulfilling and has the perks! Be it on the pitch or off you can always rely on a saint to have your back. We are always together outside of rugby for days out, tours (don’t miss a saints tour) among other things. In closing, this club means everything to me and has been my adopted family for the past 3 years. Getting me through the hard times and giving me some of the times of my life. Do yourself a favour and become a saint."
Brody Wilkinson (Social sec 2016-17)

"I'm in my final year at Leeds trinity and I have the role of social secretary for this year. In my time at uni the saints have been one of the best bits. I didn't play in first year which was a massive mistake as in second year I have made a lot of great mates. The saints are a family and that's what everyone needs at uni. If there is one thing I recommend for you're time at trinity is become a saint"

Bryn Walker (Social Secretary 2017-18)

"For me the Saints are my family, and the team means everything to me. From the very first week we have been a tight family, we work hard on the pitch together and we enjoy ourselves off it. Starting uni can be daunting, being away from home and having to make new friends. The rugby club made this very easy for me. Brought me out of my shell and made me who I am today. I am now in my second year of uni and have the role of being club chairman. Playing for the saints is one of the best things I have ever done. I would recommend it to anyone who is looking to make friends for life and enjoy the best years you'll ever have."
